climbing and bouldering in the Maggia valley

The contact with the rock, the high-altitude breeze and the sensation of being one step away from heaven – the emotions experienced when climbing a mountain are difficult to put into words. Climbing and bouldering are not sports for everyone and require a lot of training and concentration. At the top of the mountain, waiting for climbers and rewarding them for so much effort, there is always a wonderful landscape that the gym certainly cannot compete with.

Climbing, 420 Mt

spurs of PONTE brolla

The spurs of Ponte Brolla are two evident leaning pillars that rise for 400 metres. The gneiss structure offers generally slab climbing with some steep sections. The vegetation grows luxuriant next to the ascent routes but the climbing is not compromised. Since the place is very popular, especially on weekends, it is advisable to descend from via Quarzader on foot, or abseiling down the abseil slope.

To the left of the spurs in sector B) the Placca di Maoph offers a choice of easy routes 80-140 meters long, while the grades in sector C) Stratoboga are more demanding.
